Director Tayleisha Cole

Hi, I’m Tayleisha Cole, Director of Li’l Steps Academy. I have been working with children since 2007, with experience ranging from infants through high school. Over the years, I’ve developed a deep passion for early childhood education and creating meaningful, supportive environments where children can truly thrive.

I love working with children because of their innocence, curiosity, and the genuine excitement they show when learning something new. Being part of those “lightbulb moments” continues to inspire me every day.

What I love most about Li’l Steps Academy is the family atmosphere we have built. My team is truly amazing, and together we’ve created a space where everyone feels valued, supported, and connected. Coming to work doesn’t feel like work; it feels like an extension of home, and that is something very special to me.

Outside of work, I enjoy dancing, cooking, and crafting, which allow me to bring creativity and energy into both my personal life and the classroom. I’m also a proud mother of two, with two bonus children, which gives me a strong appreciation for the importance of trust, communication, and care when working with families.

I hold a degree in Business Administration, which helps me lead with both heart and structure, ensuring our center runs smoothly while always keeping children and families at the center of everything we do.

Fun fact: I used to be a double-dutch, dance, and step coach, so I love bringing rhythm, movement, and fun into our program whenever I can!

Assistant Director Sonia

Hi, I’m Sonia, Assistant Director at Li’l Steps Academy. I’ve been working in Early Childhood Education since 2018, and my journey began right here at LSA as an assistant teacher. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with all age groups, growing within the center and stepping into my current role as Assistant Director.

I have always had a passion for working with children and truly value the reward of helping them reach their full potential and build confidence in themselves. Watching children grow, learn, and develop their own sense of independence is what makes this work so meaningful to me.

What I love most about Li’l Steps Academy is the strong sense of teamwork we share. There is never a dull moment here! We laugh, support one another, and create a positive, fun environment for both staff and children. That energy is what makes our center so special.

Outside of work, I enjoy cooking, dancing, and spending quality time with my son, who is the center of my world. I also love being with close friends and family, making memories, and enjoying life. I’m a bit of a thrill-seeker, love a good celebration, and hope to travel the world one day!
