Pre-K
Our Pre-K classroom is designed to bridge the gap between preschool and kindergarten.
While learning continues to be hands-on and play-based, children begin participating in more structured learning experiences that strengthen academic readiness while preserving the joy of childhood.
Our teachers intentionally prepare children for the expectations of kindergarten by encouraging independence, critical thinking, problem-solving, and responsibility.
Children build stronger literacy and math skills, practice following multi-step directions, participate in collaborative projects, and develop the confidence needed to transition successfully into elementary school.
We believe kindergarten readiness is about much more than knowing letters and numbers. It's about helping children become confident learners, effective communicators, thoughtful problem-solvers, and kind classmates.
Children in Pre-K strengthen:
- Letter recognition, sounds, and early reading skills
- Writing readiness and name writing
- Number sense, counting, patterns, and simple math
- Science inquiry and discovery
- Critical thinking and problem-solving
- Independence and self-help skills
- Listening, attention, and classroom routines
- Cooperation, leadership, and confidence
Our goal: To ensure every child leaves Li'l Steps Academy socially, emotionally, and academically prepared for kindergarten while maintaining a lifelong love of learning.
